TSC Rubbishes Report by Standard Media on Hiring Intern Teachers on Permanent Terms
The Teachers Service Commission TSC has slammed a report by the Standard Media posted online and also printed on the hardcopy edition of Friday the 27th March 2020, about the commission hiring 8141 intern teachers on permanent terms.
TSC’s head of Communications, Beatrice Wababu, through the commission’s official social media platforms Twitter and Facebook, said that the StandardMedia’s story is misleading.
“It has come to my attention that the hardcopy edition of today’s Standard newspapers has reported that TSC had hired 8141 intern teachers on permanent basis”, wrote Wababu.
“I wish to state here that this information is incorrect, and it’s unfortunate,” reiterated the TSC’s head of Communications.
Wababu further said that the above report by the Standard Newspaper will be addressed.
It is not clear whether the words ‘addressed’ as used in the TSC’s post meant that the commission will take legal action on the media house or that they are working on hiring the intern teachers on permanent terms.
On a different note, the commission requested all teachers to comply with the dusk to dawn curfew as imposed by the President. The Curfew is set to begin a few hours from now.
The curfew is meant to restrict and minimize movement to combat the spread of Covid-19.
“Your sustained determination to observe hygiene, social distance, and the curfew will keep you safe. Together we shall crush the virus. Kenya needs you after the pandemic.” said Wababu.
